Patho3gen Solutions –  UVZone Sole Sanitizer

Initially approached by GEMS, psd was tasked with improving a UV light and ozone shoe sanitizing device. The original design was bulky and required users to step over the device, leading to user hesitation and difficulty for those with mobility impairments. psd conducted in-depth research, including interviews with healthcare professionals and hospital buyers, to identify solutions that would improve user compliance and accessibility. psd redesigned the product into a flat device that could be inset into hospital floors or placed above existing floors, sanitizing shoes in just three seconds. The new design was easier to use, more accessible, and less intimidating, resulting in greater adoption and compliance by healthcare facilities.

psd also developed a perimeter sanitization strategy for hospitals, providing comprehensive hygiene solutions. Following FDA approval, the product was installed in hospitals nationwide. psd later helped with re-branding, creating Pathogen Solutions’ new logo and corporate identity, reinforcing the company’s position in the healthcare industry.
