Luxo Arca

Arca is an office lighting system created with downward ‘gray light’, which doesn’t allow for reflections from tabletop to eyes.  It also provides a general soft upward light.  It was conceived as a full system; stand alone lamp, pole mounted system with 1-4 units, as a wall unit, or as a long overhead strip.

Arca was designed while Peter Solomon was working as Senior Designer and Project Leader at Isao Hosoe Design.  Its flexibility was important for office interior sales since one system could provide for more than 50 percent of the light sources needed in an office space and could satisfy large contract awards.

Arca won the New Product Showcase Award of 2006.
